Steering the Future of Ground Transportation with Composites
Composites are fundamental in the development of the next generation of zero emission gound transportation vehicles. More to…
Composites manufacturers are accustomed to having their products evaluated on properties like performance and pricing. But customers are now assessing another aspect of their businesses: the sustainability of their manufacturing operations. Sustainable Manufacturing can be defined as “the creation of manufactured products thorough economically-sound processes that minimize negative environmental impact while conserving energy and natural resources” (US Environmental Protection Agency). For transitioning to a more sustainable society, it is vital to conduct research not only on material but also on production methods that may reduce the climate and environmental impact, with a target of zero waste.
