Steering the Future of Ground Transportation with Composites
Composites are fundamental in the development of the next generation of zero emission gound transportation vehicles. More to…
Mobility – the way people and goods move – sits at the heart of our economy and lifestyles. The mobility revolution already underway represents a USD $2 trillion annual investment opportunity. Transportation currently accounts for 14% of all global CO2 emissions (or 9.2 Gt CO2e each year) and is one of the few sectors where annual emissions continue to rise.
A transition to net-zero transportation is vital. However, the transition is in conflict with economic growth that is fueling the growing demand for freight and personal transportation. This is a pivotal moment for transportation, magnified by the impact of COVID-19. Our transport system is currently WILD (Wasteful, Idle, Lopsided and Dirty) and needs to shift to a CLIC (Circular, Lean, Inclusive and Clean) model. At the same time it must enable, and even drive, a recovery in economic growth and future mobility.
The COVID-19 crisis presents us with a unique opportunity to revolutionise the global transportation transport and evolve to a more sustainable model.
All industries must join the “clean mobility movement” and composite stakeholders are key players in the revolution.
